Xbox adapter for my mac

Re: Xbox adapter for my mac
Okay, I did it. And (drum-role, please)...it didn't work. I don't understand what to do! I plugged in the thunderbolt cable and just nothing happened. No error message came up or showed a blank display, just nothing happened. Is there some app I need to open up to view what's plugged in to the thunderbolt port or something? Please answer quickly!!!!

The thunderbolt port is new to me too. I honestly don't know how to boot up a macbook pro in monitor mode, but I'd try googling how to do that.

Try "detect displays" Under display in system prefs.

Doesn't work. I click on it, my screen freezes for a couple secs, then nothing.Mgalekgolo wrote:Try "detect displays" Under display in system prefs.

Wait, just thought of something. Doesn't the MacBook normally send the signals OUT through the Thunderbolt cable, like for connecting to external displays and what-not. So doesn't that mean that I have to make the MacBook see that I want to make the MacBook the external display instead of the MacBook thinking that it's connecting to an external display?

Re: Xbox adapter for my mac
Keep in mind not everyone here uses a Mac anymore, and those that have may have no idea how this works. I have never heard of Thunderbolt cables. Truth be told, we were (are?) a modding community, we deal with software more then hardware. I would try taking the question to a more popular, active, and appropriate Mac forum.
Like these ones:

http://forums.macrumors.com/forumdisplay.php?f=77
Do search their forums before asking though, as there may have been people with your same question.
We are a small community, and hardly what I would call experts. But god, look at Mac Rumors. Their iPhone forum has as many threads as this site has posts. And it must be half as old as this site as well. Now that's what I call active. Best of luck to you.

*sigh* I had the same problem, but I guess it won't work.
