Xbox adapter for my mac
Xbox adapter for my mac
I'll try to keep this short and sweet: My T.V. Is absolute shit. I have a pretty impressive Mac, though. So I was wondering if there was somewhere that I could find an Xbox Adapter that would somehow plug into my MacBook Pro computer which would let me play my Xbox on it. While that's kinda unlikely, I was thinking more realistically. I was thinking if there was something that would be a Xbox to PC MONITOR adapter (which would be more likely, as they're both Microsoft), which I could then proceed to get a PC to Mac adapter and plug that into the first adapter?
Please respond quickly, I want to have this thing by the time Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary comes out.

Re: Xbox adapter for my mac
I've found one for the PC-Mac. But I really don't know what the hell the description is saying so I don't know if this is even what I'm looking for (actually wait, where would I even plug one in? Would I have to use my Thunderbolt port or something) . Help me out?

Don't the new macbooks use USB port for their displays? I've never tried on mine.

Re: Xbox adapter for my mac
Okay, but I'm not sure if I'm blind or not (which might explain my K/D); but the Black Displayport and the Mini-DisplayPort don't look compatible. I dunno though.
P.S. I still can't get the "What is the name of this site backwards thing correct."

Re: Xbox adapter for my mac
Also, could I just use this ( http://www.amazon.com/Displayport-Cable ... f_sc_shvl4 ) so as to skip the last two adapters?

Re: Xbox adapter for my mac
Dude, you either need a HDMI cable and this, or… something to transfer the composite video signal to the computer. :-\
PS: oh wait, you could also use the component signal.
The problem is that none of us has ever done this before. If i were you i'd try with the HDMI one (if it isn't too expensive). But if you have the other adapters i guess that the component signal is fine too!
If you succeed please report back!
EDIT: PPS: check this out too. It might be helpful.

Re: Xbox adapter for my mac
I've played on a monitor before using a component VGA cable. I've never tried using my laptop as a monitor though, so I don't know what you need to what to expect, and that's why I'm refraining from giving any advice. With components, you'd need external speakers for sound (Or turtle beaches which is what I used). But with HDMI, there is a slim chance, pretty unlikely, that the computer wouldn't recognize the sound input.
