This is a great day for America, although it is bitter sweet for California.
Right now, the votes are going for a yes on prop 8.
Prop 8 will take away gays and lesbians right to marry.
Its sad that we have come so far, that we have elected our first black president, yet we take away rights to others.

The votes are also leading toward a no on prop 5, which would reduce the jail time of people caught with illegal drugs.
It would allow people who are convicted to choose, go to jail, or get treatment.
Right now, California is spending almost twice as much on prison inmates, then it is on children in schools.
If prop 5 is passed, it will save money, help people, and change lives.

This is a triumph.
Finally our country has done the right thing ever since the days of the declaration of independence. No longer will we be under the sway of the other war-like leaders with their lies and misinformation. Along with that, Obama is the first African-American president. And while this country had the legal rights to trade african slaves long ago, we have rethought that and now one of them is leading our country. Who knows, Obama's ancestors were probably slaves themselves. But this is just awesome. I can't even begin to explain how satisfied I am at everyone's decision. We can see better things being projected in the future now. It is a brand new day. Live it to the fullest, America!
