how would i make a live grenade spawn?

A few minutes ago i was playing with a my mod map online trying to make a homing plasma grenade. What happened was that it went way too fast and would bounce off anything that wasn't a person or a vehicle. i acidently threw one inside the blue base and this is what happened:

It's bouncing on the floor and the ceiling. Well after some noob on my team ran right through it and killed himself (and me) I tried to recreate this and succeeded.

Anyway I realized they make good traps and i wondering if it would be possible to spawn a live grenade/other projectile without a gun/throwing. (like on the ground or floating.)

just realized this:

would a gun on the ground with 1 bullet and "hold trigger when dropped work" ticked work?
but i would rather just make a spawn projectile.

^ This would work.

I've also known spawning a projectile in place of an itmc to possibly work, or maybe it was in place of a vehi, I can't remember, it might not work.

Also, grenade bouncing like that thing has been done, a good example is the frag nades in my Metal mod, good job on re-finding it though. You'll find material responses are crazy fun to mess with.

Oh hurrow.
Welcome to MGM!
Just spawn a pistol with the "hold trigger" or what ever, but give it 1 bullet. See if the "maintains Y axis" (once more I'm uncertain if this is the title) will keep it face up. Another cool thing to do would be to give the plasma rifle a shitload of ammo and put it on trigger lock, give it a good 200 ROF, and flip it on the Y axis. Try it and you'll more than likely have trip wires.

Thanks and the tripwire sounds fun. (z-axis is up/down, y-axis is north/south and x-axis is east/west) and also i read on the tut that you need to give it speed so not thinking of how fast it was i put 1-1.5... because of excessive speed they would bounce of anything but vehicles and spartans... looks like if Dr. Narwhal is right then I will have to learn swordedit to place it where i need it.

Question: If it was too fast and bounced off the base walls, why doesn't it bounce according to the angle it hit and fly out of the base? (Think of how needler needles bounce off stuff, especially shields.)

Something to do with weight perhaps? Did you change anything else?

There was a topic somewhere...
Go to proj>choose projectile (plasma grenade)>Reflectives
Change the things in there from "Bounce" to "Stick" or something.

More commonly known as "material responses."

@2310: Sometimes they'll bounce off numerous surfaces before finally getting stuck between two parallel ones, like in the pic. Or, you can throw a nade straight down or up and back away quickly and get it stuck like that.

In hmt plugins i had homing = 30 (for testing) and that was the only other thing i modded and the grenades did bounce around but i didn't vid so you cant see that. I don't need to change responses as ill change speed to something normal =P and I like the bounce.

@2310: it does but that i can only do in the doorway of the base. (or get really lucky)

@crazyshroom: Thanks, do you want it as I'll send a link.

@Dr. Narwhal: You cant throw straight down unless you have super speed as the travel from 1 base to the other in about .5-1.5 seconds...

Step 1: Set the AR to shoot plasmas at some super high speed. You must change the speed. Give it infinite ammo as well.
Step 2a: Go into caves, shoot a bunch, and run out.
Step 2b: Give yourself the coll of a warthog. Shoot AR straight down. Fly around the map like some sort of plasma powered jetpack.

Steps 1 branches out into either 2a or 2b, or both.

Homing stops having any logical purpose when it's set to 3.

The tutorial said to put it to "something high, like 30" for testing... anyway Try It! I bet it looks all weird without the mod. =P I'm making an actual mod right now and i'm in the middle of phase 1.. bitmapping. (i sort of took an easy way out while still making it look cool.)

Ah ok. I thought you had a way of making them bounce vertically only.

From what we know,
  1. Thrown grenades can't home in. It'd be great if you can find a way! :D
  2. If homing is higher than 5 (or somewhere above 4-5) then the projectile will have a "zig-zag effect", seemingly jerking around in the air as it approaches the target. Making it too high may make it accidently hit walls even if there is a clear path to the target, especially in narrow corridors.

Another thing about homing: Oftentimes projectiles tend to home in on objects that are not bipeds, like certain scen (boulders and trees usually).
