As long as it wasn't in your inventory, it might have been moved over back to where it was.

I've had these dogs for a few months. If anything someone killed them, and the doors were opened.

That happens sometimes when coming back from the Nether. Biomes get switched. It's only client-side. That's actually rain.

I decided to purchase this about an hour ago. However, I seem to be having trouble connecting to the MGM server.

Cool bro. Maintinence a lot. there was a ton of lag so thats probably why.
