Next year's thanksgiving recomendation

Post by KingYaba » Thu Nov 25, 2004 9:32 pm

To all of those who celebrate thanksgiving:

I highly highly recomend that you deep fry a turkey next year. omg, it was the best turkey i had ever had in my life. we added some cajun spices and that baby just was the best. not one bit of that turkey was dry, was soooooo nice and juicy. stick that turkey in peanut oil and fry it. take a short amount of time, somwhere beteween 15-30 min. i do'nt remmber. but its worth it!!!!!!

Heh, now THAT is a true American. Deep-Fat-Fry everything you possibly can, may it be once or twice.

I know a guy who DFFed a Krispy Kreme....he took a bite and loved it.

3 months later he had a heart attack cuz he had atleast 3 a day.......

I call it Heart Attack Heaver.

deep fat? you must be mistaken. were didn't stick the damn turkey in a mcdonnalds deep fryer with all that grease and god knows whats in there..

plus, whoever deep fat frys a donut is asking for a heart attack. donuts are fried in the first place then glazed or whatever, ... ihate donutes, make me sick.

Smoking the meat is always my favortite for turkey, get some nice flavored coal, and let it cook.

Best things come....... to those that wait. =)

Why is sticking the turkey in the oven being forgotten?

hey now, all i said was i liked smoked turkey from a BBQ. Than you laughed at me because you didnt know about flavored charcoal. When infact you were the one ill-informed about it.

I have been BBQ'in/smokin Turkey for thanksgiving for the past 27+ years of my life. Maybe I am one of the few??? i doubt it.

I thought this thread was for discussing our favorite turkey cooking methods................. you posted yours, I shared mine. sheesh, no reason to get butthurt.

Thats always good as well. There are many ways to cook a good turkey, IMO the most important thing is to keep the meat from drying out.

no shit i actually smoked the bird last year and the whole family loved it -- in a weber -- about 14 coals to start, you have a bullpen and add about 4-5 per hour to keep the heat up -- i used wood chips for the smoke flavor -- meat was flavorful and moist due to the slow roll -- only downside: you can't stuff it if you are smoking at 200 degrees -- danger -- oh, and about 4 yrs ago i had side-by-side deep fried and smoked bird done in professional rr equip, a real smoker and a real fryer (not by me alas) and the smoked carcass was toast well before the deep fired -- so good! -- then again, taste is a matter of taste

You sound like one of those Cooking Commercials, el_presidente. ;)

Oh and my POV is that any food is good aslong as its healthy (even if its not, aslong as it tastes okay i'm coo' with it.)
