A Situation (resolved)
A Situation (resolved)
I have this problem. See, back in August, I went down to Colorado. I was on my way to New Mexico, and I was going to go on a 10 day hike with some other people in my boy scout troop. HOWEVER, we stopped in Colorado to adjust to the climate, and then we went up a mountain called Pike's Peak in a railway system. Pike's Peak is over 14,000 feet up. When we got to the top, I felt terrible, and threw up my brains. It seemed like normal elevation sickness. It wasn't. I was in the hospital for five days down there. Turns out, I have sickle cell trait. Which means when I go up high altitudes, or get dehydrated, or if my blood cells don't have enough oxygen, they sickle. Which caused my spleen to enlarge, which put me in the hospital on an IV for 5 days. I came back to good ol' massachusetts, and couldn't be active at all for 3 months. Slowly the pain began to go away, and I didn't have to limp anymore. Still, I was unable to run cross country like I do every year. Now, eventually the pain went away almost entirely, and catscans showed that my spleen had returned almost to normal size. But, unfortunately, this changed suddenly, and the pain started coming back. Now, I'm unable to do cross country skiing also, and catscans show that both my spleen and my liver have enlarged even more over the past month or so. To put it simply, either today, or tomorrow, or monday, some day soon, I'm probably returning to the hospital. I don't know what's going to happen. It's unusual for someone with sickle cell not to have recovered by now. I have no idea what they're going to do once I get there, or whether they can do anything. I could die. At this point, I can't exert myself at all, and just walking around hurts. So, I just wanted to let you all know, that I may be inactive for a while, which would mean I'm at the hospital. I don't think I'll die. That's unlikely. So don't worry about me. I'll be fine. Thank you, MGM, for being such an awesome community, and helping me out so much. It's been really fun. I'll be back. Keep up the good work!

Well, it is simply impossible for you to die, because no one leaves Halo. And death would do that.
Dude, this puts all my little paranoid aches and pains right into perspective. I cannot even begin to imagine the misery this has put you through. All the best, and I am going to show this to all of family (whom are, unlike me, religious) who will pray for you in this difficult time, and my thoughts will be with you. I really hope that you get through this quickly and easily. If you have the opportunity to get back on a computer, send me an email and we can play or IM or whatever sounds good to you.
Also, what is your actual name? My mom wants it for praying purposes. Hehe lol.
Best of luck dude.

Oh dear Kayar... You will be missed. I hope everything goes well for you, sincerely. Frankly, it will be hard for me not to worry, because I have a horrible tendency to do so. Think about all of us back here, as we'll be thinking of you. By-the-way, don't use the past tense. You're not gone yet, nor will you be for several decades to come
. Keep your spirits up, and see if you an snag a computer and an Internet connection. I will personally fight the whole of Blue team with nothing more then pistol while you run away with the flag. Or I'll give you a lift in a Pelican whenever you want.

Thanks everyone. Good news! (hopefully)
I was prescribed some pills, and taking them seems to keep the pain back a little, so I'm not in the hospital, which is good. Thing is, the pills have absolutely nothing to do with my symptoms, which slightly worries me, since it might mean I'm just fooling myself into believing I have less pain and vice-versa. Which is problematic 'cause it means my actual problem with my spleen and liver probably isn't being solved just yet. But, I'm getting a scan done tomorrow that'll probably show what's actually wrong and how best to fix it. Blood tests also came back recently, and at the moment none of my blood cells are sickling, which means my only problems are my spleen/liver and why they're both still enlarging.
Pickoff, tell your fam I said thanks.
And my real name is (censored! Oh noes!
