halo demo not working....!?

my halo demo will start up but i cannot play on it.... it freezes and i cant move the mouse... my computer doesn't freeze but the game does..... i cant even hear sounds... also when i try to force quit it, it says that it is working fine.... it says that there is no need to force quit it...

can someone help me cause i would like to play it sometime today?....

Ok first of all, try opening garageband, closing it, then playing halo. If that doesn't work, tell more what you did that might mess it up. For example, when I switched to leopard, I had to put my ip in the little config window that opens when you start halo. I never had to do that before.

Also, you could try deleting your preferences (users>>your dude>>library>>preferences>>halo demo preferences), then starting up halo.

If that doesn't work and you have 10.4 or less, try maybe repairing permissions on the folder that contains your halo (I think to do it, it's somewhere in the get info window).

oh okay... but the thing is when i get to the menu i cant move the mouse and it was because when i was changing the settings in halo last night i force quit it when it was saving..... that was an accident though....

EDIT: i figured it out! when i start it up and get to the main menu it does nothing... but when i wait a few seconds(30.) it plays the music! oh ya, when at the main menu it has no stars on the bottom half of sky....

Hey you guys... you can make this part of zapconquest's post...

i was playing my halo demo, or not really, bbut i started pressing control really fast and it started working... so when i changed my profile... IT WORKED!!

it is a little late to be figuring this out, but i am happy to say i fixed my halo demo!!!
man i watched 30 episodes of red versus blue today.... oops...
