Console Mod to Kick/Ban in Demo?
I thought I saw something like this a while ago, but I wasn't too interested in it. Is there a patch or a mod for Halo Demo that unleashes the mighty power of console?

As for banning the only thing I can think of is Yummy's halo banning app.

Short answer: No.
Long answer: A few others can correct me if I'm wrong, however...
The theory was that the console "code" was removed from the Halo Engine, however this is not entirely so.
Obviously something somewhat scripting related is still there, otherwise one would not be able to use commands via the init.txt files with CRLF line terminators. However that's fairly limited, as it's not such an "in-game" mod or hack. Changes would only take affect at the start of each run.
There is Yummy's Banner, however I wouldn't exactly recommend it. It's more of a trial and error guess attempt at their IP's.
It is possible to modify the code, to allow that "console" radio button to be checked/unchecked, however the "console" isn't exactly "enabled". No known affect has been discovered as of yet. (To my knowledge.) The only other way, would be a UI edit, via xcode's interface builder, or something similar, editing the ui .nib file.
I do have a theory that would create essentially a better application for kicking/banning users, than Yummy's banner, however.. It's just a theory, and I'm much too busy to spend the time working on such a project.

The console's code was never removed. Just modified so that it could not be activated.

Could it be possible to modify it back so you can activate it?

Wait, if you can remove the trial code (im presuming thats what blocks off features) for the console, then activate it the same way in halo full, could you do it?

What? I mean things like 30 day trials. Or the SwordEdit beta that had an expiration date. It probably is possible by modifying something in the executable (it's probably not a nib edit like slappey theorized.) That's what someone did to activate the console for Halo Trial on the PC. As of how, I don't really know.Amy wrote:Could it be possible to modify it back so you can activate it?
Instead of kicking or banning people, I usually just mess around with their speed values or make them not spawn by modifying their team color, or something. It's fun.
I am no longer active to Halo or MGM, and don't guarantee a response on the forums or through email. I will however linger around the discord room for general chatting. It's been fun!

edit: Most likley not nib, I copied fulls nib to replace it. No diffrence. Dev's must have hidden it somewhere. Most likley requires engine editing
