Newsflash: HDM supports Halo Demo, Halo Full and Halo CE
Halo Demo Mods has now acquired two more domain names:
HaloFullMods.com
HaloCEMods.com
We now fully support these other two Halo versions! The domain names now stand at:
HaloDemoMods.com
HaloFullMods.com
HaloCEMods.com
HaloDemo.net
All the above domains direct you to the same wiki. Once we've gotten the related pages on a roll, I'll add subdomains like mods.halofullmods.com and tools.halocemods.com.

I don't think HDM has the population size to support a Full and a CE section. It'd be like me making a "How to mod Halo:CE" board on a COD 4 modding website: there're too few people who'd actually use it for it to be worthwhile.

I agree with the yodawgnewyorkingangsta.
But uh, I'd say it makes sense to have a subsection of halodemomods be full, but CE is not really needed.

The purpose is to attract those players. I see your point about it being a different game, but I think the domain "halocemods.com" and the support for the game will attract the halo ce gaming audience. If it doesn't do so well after a time, then I can revert it easily enough. Thanks for the insight about the community being relatively small; perhaps this will help us grow and attract a larger audience?Moxus wrote:I don't think HDM has the population size to support a Full and a CE section. The CE and Full communities could use a wiki setup, and it makes more sense for us to expand than for a new web site to start, seeing as we're all dealing with the same game engine.

I think excluding CE might be a good idea. There is already a site for CE and...full mods can just be compiled with the demo mods, just labeled [FULL]. Not many people mod full, and if they ARE attracted to that site, we should uhh..i really have no more ideas.

Ok. If it doesn't catch on soon enough, I'll revert and remove all the used space on the server.

Re: Newsflash: HDM supports Halo Demo, Halo Full and Halo CE
Keep the CE tags and or tools on though, just maybe not the map

Re: Newsflash: HDM supports Halo Demo, Halo Full and Halo CE
IMO, the wiki setup doesn't add enough to the experience to draw people from sites like Halomaps. Besides, since the CE and Full communities already have well-established, functional community websites, why would people leave such familiar surroundings to go to a completely unknown site?Sparky wrote:The purpose is to attract those players. I don't think that he is trying to steal people from pre-existing communities, I he's just contributing more to them.
I like your idea sparky.
I like your idea sparky.
The armaments which thunderstrike the walls
And monarchs tremble in their capitals.
The oak leviathans, whose huge ribs make
Of lord of thee, and arbiter of war;
Alike the Armada's pride, or spoils of Trafalgar.

Same goes for me.

Good point, and I like Devious' clarification. Does his answer resolve your question? Even if it does, I should make sure that what Devious said is a main premise for its inclusion. We'll have to mention that this is an additional resource for Halo CE and Full modders and players.Moxus wrote:IMO, the wiki setup doesn't add enough to the experience to draw people from sites like Halomaps. I keep seeing these forums that don't allow any more registrations and all these sites that are extremely limited (like a frustrating download system at halomaps.org), and I'd like to help alleviate the situation in which those communities are.
I agree with Pakar about removing the mods section. But maybe it could be a "most popular mods" section instead, or something else that won't entirely consume all our server resources...

Re: Newsflash: HDM supports Halo Demo, Halo Full and Halo CE
Seperate the Mod pages into First names or keywords so we can find mods please.

Re: Newsflash: HDM supports Halo Demo, Halo Full and Halo CE
You've both missed my point; I'm not suggesting HDM should steal players from other websites, I'm saying that people won't be willing to give HDM a look because they already have their needs satisfied elsewhere. And even if I were advocating the attraction of players from other communities, how are you going to have a resource if you don't have anyone to supply it?Sparky wrote:Good point, and I like Devious' clarification.
