DAMMIT DAMMIT DAMMIT:
in island V1 (mod by sword) i was trying to swap some weapons, like the plasma rifle with the plasma pistol.

the problem is that the 16b codes are the same:
P.Pistol: 00 00 00 00 02 00 04 00 CD CC 4C 3E 00 00 00 00
P.Rifle: 00 00 00 00 02 00 04 00 CD CC 4C 3E 00 00 00 00

ehm, if i swap them nothing happens (...)

so.. how damn can i swap that weapon? thanks in advance...

On some weapons, for some reason, there are two different codes for a single gun. But there cannot be one for two because that means it would only be one weapon.

Those aren't the right strings. There's no I.D at the end. You're not in the right area.

Here's a tutorial on how to swap the plasma rifle with the plasma pistol.

1. Open The Island map in HexEdit, and press 'Apple + F'.

2. In the find box, type in this: 6C 04 E0 E5

3. In the replace with box, type this: D2 05 46 E7

Then press Replace All. Press 'Apple + S' and you're done.

If you can open the map in HMT, then you can find the I.D to any of the weapons or vehicles.

:lol:. If you have HMT, then you can pretty find out any code. When you click on the object, over in the right of the application you'll see I.D... just read it backwards and that's it... :D.

You need the bg ones, but there's several differences in the data since it's a rebuilt map. Might I suggest Demo Hack 2.0 to allow you to use various modding tools on The Island.

So what does hexedit do besides 16/4 byte swaps and renames? It is like I don't need the headers anymore because there are Demo tools for that.

16 bytes is not the entire projectile. It is an Alias or shortcut.

The only reason I use HexEdit to mod is when I rename a weapon or ERSB notice, ect. in stead of 16-byte swaps.
