Who else has both a PC & Mac for gaming?

Post by [BIG] Ranger » Mon Jul 04, 2005 12:03 am

Funny how I still see myself as primarily a 'Mac person', when I spend 40% of my time using a PC!

Still...I really only use a PC for two things; MS Outlook (at work) and games.

So does anyone else have both a Mac and PC - is it a common thing these days?

I have both but I didn't get the PC for games. Although I have started looking into various upgrades for the PC so I could play some games on it.

That's the thing Mono...It's a slippery slope having a PC as well as a Mac!

:D

I originally bought 'my' PC for my girlfriend - who is doing a degree - and then I started using it to check the web pages I develop....AND THEN a mate said 'put this game on - check it out', and that was that!

The thing is, as a Mac user you want to have access to all those fantastic games your friends are playing on their PCs - so if you happen to own a PC yourself it's tempting just to wack them on (instead of waiting a year for the Mac release).

This is what happened with Joint Operations and now Battlefeild 2.

Luckily my girlfriend works as a bar-maid in the evenings so I use the PC then! But one day I will have to buy my own games PC.

LOL...

Funny reading this thread I did a year ago...

I am now almost fully converted to PC use, and an avid 'Battlefield 2' player in a clan called OBC.

I only use a Mac at work now - at home I use my PC for both gaming and professional design.

HOWEVER - I do miss all my old GameRanger buddies (wonder if they are still out there and remember me?), and would love to see GameRanger support PC servers too so I could meet up with them.

I do still have a lovely PowerBook - but sadly it lays there on a shelf in my office gathering dust. :(

I wish I had money for a PC. Words cannot describe how much i'd like to play Oblivion.

Two words: Boot. Camp.

It's perfect for hosting dedicated servers in Halo.

I'd like the idea of one day being able to play games on one 'half' of my computer, then for my designe work flicking over to the other 'half'!

Fantastic...

I did in teh past use two computers (Mac & PC) - but this can be such a bind, now I am fully PC. And I just use my MAC while at work.
