Oh and, I went and mined and found a natural vein. I changed my mind, the number of blocks in one vein is now 6, when I get some items made Ill upload that.

For reference, if we can get recipes to work the idea is the following:
one build grist+wood block= 2 wood blocks.
And more "valuable" items require more grist.

Is the grist block suppose to double the amount of the block you use with it?

Yes, it's kinda similar to the use of grist in Homestuck (The faux-game comic this is off)
They could build items, at the cost of build grist. But to build items, you would need the original item or the "data" of the item.

I can do recipies fine. But do you want grist to drop 3 or 4 ect.? and make a list of all the things for upgrade.

Also If it dont kill me this time I want a Grist Block please for the great items and for it to seem more official.

So for 2-3 blocks of something more common than redstone I can get a diamond block?

Well I'm not sure what your plans are here, but if you want to keep diamonds just as hard to get then you would have to reduce the rarity to 3 times less than that of diamonds, and then that would decrease the versatility of the grist, because I believe the idea is just to make it more of a convenience to duplicate simple items. My suggestion would be to not allow duplication of any "storage" type items. ie. Diamond blocks, lapi blocks, etc.

Yeah I was thinking no Storage blocks too, aside from chests. I checked diamond and the rarity is 1, so its the rarest. What I can do is make it require more grist and have a grist block eventually. So ima add a poll.

You will require more grist for the more valueable items. for instance, one diamond and 8 grist will make 2 diamonds.

@Mgal: Grist blocks might make it more even.

Bunneh, even with 8 grist pieces, the max, it would be easier to use grist on a diamond block than mine 9 diamonds.
