Post by Vir2L™ » Fri Sep 03, 2004 12:59 pm

The Prison

looks pretty nice, i havent given it a run thru yet, but it looks promising for some mission scriptors.

I'll do some quick and dirty Alpha squad gametype-missions for it. The night part of the map may need a file conversion one file or more looks too long (more than 31 characters). Won't take long. I'm on the PC now.

The quickest thing to do would be to enable the 2 maps for coop and fix the one texture (ground cover for the night map).

Then post it here as a Mac conversion...

Then i'll go to work on some missions, but in the mean time at least we'll be able to run the Alpha Squad and other game types on it.

I get pretty poor framerates on that map indoors, i think it is do to the video camera animations..... The outdoor runs fine, except the map maker made the tree detail on high, so even if you run low LOD they will still be high detail. *shrug*

The destructable walls are a nice touch tho, 2 nades and kaboom.

Roger that. The framerates are 4x faster outdoors.

I fixed and redid some things including the texture for the night map version.

I'm uploading the new mod version now and will post the link when it's ready.

I would say it's safe for public Mac consumption now :-).

It looks cool. Not sure if this would work since I suck with Photoshop, but couldn't the high tree textures be copied and there quality lower so they would work on lower settings.

Tim, did you add anything to the map or is it the download a direct conversion? Just wondering for credit when I stick it on the site.

Since the FPS outside is actually nice I wouldn't worry about the trees. The CCTV anims (tiny, go figure) on the inside is what kills the FPS

I threw out two massive 2.2 mb uneeded files and since one of the textures was screwed on the night map I just referencecd the one for the same thing (ground cover texture) that *did* work in the daylight map version, and you can't even tell. I also referenced the day command map for the night map since the night command map was almost pure black.

I did not add anything but I had to spend some time on it for sure.

Did I answer your question :P
