The demo league has been put on hold while I work on some scripts to automate the whole process.
The league is now back on, as of 10-12-03.

Hi Monoman...
Have you had any thoughts about doing a 2005 league?
There seems to be a resurgence in GRd players on GameRanger this year (don't know why), and CoKe's league has been very popular and well attended.
[CoKe only runs his tournies sporadically - and it's hit or miss whether you catach them - so we could do with something that's a bit more scheduled so people know when to come on. Perhaps a Sunday afternoon league?]
Just a thought.
Cheers,
Ranger

Coke's league is based around when he wants to play. Which why it works since he is participating in it. I don't mind setting something up but, I don't play the demo anymore besides the occasional test and for this to work you need to be active in it. If you are up for the challenge you can be in charge of the league. That way there is an active member participating and encouraging play. Let me know if you are interested and we can set something up.

Cheers Monoman...
I would love to host a tournament (with your help!)...
I am on holiday at the moment and one of the things I am doing is FINALLY sorting out my hopeless FIREWALL on my ADSL modem.
I have an ancient DSL modem where you can only adjust the firewall by a command line - not easy to use. Also it has a habit of resetting itself to teh factory default. So I can never host a game on GameRanger!!!
So I am buying a 3Com wireless modem router this Friday - it has a simple web-beased interface that makes it easy to add ports (like GameRangers) into the Firewall...
(...Sorry - this is probably too much information really! LOL)
I will be setting this up over the next couple of weeks and testing it...So I will FINALLY be able to host....Whoooo hooo!
In teh meantime though - I'd like to discuss how best to set up a tournament, and I will also have to set-up a website for it.
Obviously I will need to work out the best way to have people register and to list rankings, etc.

I will host the website stuff. You could design how you want everything displayed and I will upload it to my site. I can also work off your design to add rankings and registration through php. I'll check if I still have the old stuff from the original league and you can check if you want to use any of that stuff.
Besides the design you won't have to worry about the site. You can focus on getting people interested and dealing with any problems that might come up.

Fantastic!
That would be great...
So all I have to worry about now is my router problem...
Which will - hopefully - be fixed with teh new 3Com router Im getting!
