Download issues

Post by P!ckoff » Mon Jul 24, 2006 4:53 pm

I created an account on filefront, and uploaded a mod (Demon's Anti-n00b mod) and a document to it for download. I then unzipped the file that I used for uploading, and the bloodgulch.map had turn into a bloodgulch.map.bin and when I clicked on it it appeared in Toast, and Toast came up with an error message with i have forgoten. Any ideas? :(

Try archiving it. What I do is right click the folder that the mod is in and click Create Archive. That way when the person unzips it, they get the folder, too.

I wonder if you can use stuffit to further compress an already archived file/folder.

Screw stuffit, 7zip it... a .7z is ~1/2 the size of a .zip

How exactly do you compress it into 7z? I compress files by adding .sit at the end, that turns it into a .sit file, then i archive it, which makes it xxxxx.sit.zip :) Should i add .7z to the end? Or do i have to get something somewhere :?:

EDIT: Im back on the damn PC in school, everything loads so damn slow.

Adding a file extension to something won't compress it.... You need to find an app that will commpress it for you.

Yeah, you don't just add a file extension that the file isn't formated in.

Go to google, and look for the program EZ 7z. This program obviously compresses and decompresses .7z formated files.

I guess it's not a problem. I don't like it having to run through Console... That's all.
