HALO FULL MOD MANAGER
does anyone one know if this exists, i have virtually no experience in coding but i think it would be complicated from what i saw in hdemolauncher. can it be done? will it?
Re: HALO FULL MOD MANAGER
i don't think it exists, but if hdemolauncher can be done, so can hfulllauncher be done. right? or can it... *dramatic music*
Re: HALO FULL MOD MANAGER
Pretty sure you can use HDL with Halo full as well. The actual mod managing part is just file moving, so it should handle things just fine.

HDL won't work the way it is right now. The first reason is that I made sure the app would only function with Halo Demo =\. It'd actually have to be a port (personally I thought no one cared about the full version that much =\)
Few things that'd have to be modified to HDL:
1) Change map loading code so that it doesn't care if the map is demo hacked anymore (I mean, who would do that on a halo full map anyway), so then it'd support other single player and multiplayer maps other than bloodgulch and b30.
2) Change paths to point to GameData or something for maps and init.txt since Halo UB is structured differently... Also those annoying videos, I forget where those are placed.
3) Change filename in launching Halo... Also ask user to select halo application instead of the halo folder, since there is none.
4) Probably need to add a Map type column, because in full version, it's not obvious if a mod is bloodgulch.map or say infinity.map
Extra:
5) Kill Download Manager, fix Gametype Changer paths [although the usefulness of the changer is questionable in full version..]
6) Make previewing server functionality work with full servers, change the way connecting to servers works a bit.

I think Altimit made an app called The Operator or something. Maybe it works for the full version, don't know. Also not sure how it works.

I am no longer active to Halo or MGM, and don't guarantee a response on the forums or through email. I will however linger around the discord room for general chatting. It's been fun!

...Why? I made my previous post thinking: "nil would never make it only allow demo maps, it'd be completely silly if he did." You silly dog, you.nil wrote:HDL won't work the way it is right now. Re: HALO FULL MOD MANAGER
There's no reason HDL should be able to load invalid maps such as "dangercanyon." Keeping in mind I wrote it for Demo, of course. And anyways, Halo UB app is structured differently, the executable name is different too, and blah blah like I've already explained with other issues.Modzy wrote:...Why? But the actual map-moving part shouldn't be restricted to just demo. It'd be harder to restrict it to demo, which is why I didn't think it would be, 'cause that'd be silly. ;Pnil wrote:

Re: HALO FULL MOD MANAGER
Haha, the only thing is no one knows how to create CMP files (or whatever they were called). Or even if you knew how to create them, you'd have to admit it is sort of weirddirk wrote:from his chair on the pouch dirk shouts: there is one that was the coolest thing ever, it is called CMP .
That reminds me of another challenge though that many full mods use PPF's? Bleh.
@Modzy: It's restricted to demo because of how the app and data are relative to each other, so it's actually easier for me to do that.

Re: HALO FULL MOD MANAGER
meh... i have no idea how to do this...
why dont we use the old manager for the structure when it had no servers, gametype shit, ect.
what i meant was a full mod manager whitout all that additive crap (good crap)
it seems doable and when i went in the app i saw something called .Sparkle
whats that?
