halo full modding questions

Post by halonerd12 » Sat Oct 13, 2007 7:41 pm

hey, ok, so i thought i could build a new sparkedit/eschaton mixed program.

...

i'm not sure i have enough experience anymore

i guess i'll try later

but i would appreciate it if anybody could direct me on some mod ideas, i'v got some greate ideas, but i'm not quite sure how to impliment them

mod ideas
1. Play as a hunter, but be able to pick up other covenant weapons
2. Play as an elite
3. Skin the master chief, (make his armor cooler)
4. Make the banshee into a Pelican from the campaign, (if that even possible)

anyway, suggestions would be welcome, (feel free to PM me or email me too)

i think i can do the 'every weapon can be picked up bu hunter' thing.

i'm working on a play as elite mod for demo, in that you can hold all weapons etcetera...

skin the master chief should be easy, do you have HMT?
when you get it, open any map with it, go to bitm tags and choose cyborg's one.
then click on preview and export. <_< someone will explain better...

make the banshee into a pelican... it should be easy too,
go to halo demo section and follow the tutorials ;)

If you want to play as a Hunter, there is apparently a way of exporting that will let you without crashing Halo. The only thing you need to know is that you will only be able to use one weapon in the whole game. By default, this is the Fuel rod, but you might be able mod the weapon so that you could fire 2 projectiles (like the Plasma Pistol), or just something different then the Fuel Rod. Other then that, all is possible.

Many thanks to the people who have made my years on MGM and on Halo Demo so memorable.

it doesnt exist, you should export hunter's biped from a map to another,

try searchin an importing tut, like this, but using hunta's bipd and without header's changes... <_<

you mean like .ppf and .uhp ? well those are used to cut down on the map size what it does, and correct me if im wrong, it compares the two maps and stores what is different in the .ppf or .uhp file and you apply that to an original level and it will change the level to include the differences

.ppf (and .qpf) - search through two files and compare all differences. store the offset of each difference plus the actual data of that difference in a third file. Much smaller file.

.uhp - similar idea but is Halo specific and records differences taking into account the meta that difference is in as well as checking dependencies and storing them as strings allowing it to be applied to any map (since dependency ID values change from map to map). UHP patches can be applied to any map rather than just the original map that was modded.

In both cases the purpose is to provide a much lighter file somewhere on the order of a couple hunder KB rather than the 13.5 MB map file. Even compressed, a map file is tediously large to upload and download.

Its most useful for the 80MB demo bitmaps file--- and absolutely necessary for the 300MB Halo Full bitmaps.
