Making Plasma Pistol take longer to cool off when overheated

Post by (M)Assassin » Wed Feb 09, 2011 6:38 am

Hi. i made a mod where the plasma pistol overcharge spawns an active camo and makes the player invisible for the default 45 seconds. The problem is, however, the player keeps overcharging it even when they are already invisible and it leaves dropped active camo powerups strewn all over the place. I was thinking of making the pistol just take 45 seconds to recharge but I got no luck so far...any suggestions? thanks ----)
I'm (M)Assassin on Halo Demo for Mac too ----)

look in floats. You wanna change something that sounds like 'heat decreasing rate'
if i remember it's nearing the end of the floats

There is something at weap>weapons\plasma pistol\plasma pistol in meta editor, HMT plugins, Reflexives>projectile>projectile1>floats.
Its called Overload time.

Wat.

Always use Fuels Plugins for weapons. They are the easiest to get and also they work 99% of the time.
Fuels Plugins.
Floats
Heat Loss Per Second.

You'll need to do some maths to get it right.
This is what you should be looking for.

Heat Generated Per Round (HGPR) = 1
This is for the charged shot, so 1 = over charge

Heat Loss Per Second (HLPS) = .65
That means that for every second when not being fired, it looses this much energy.
Look at it out of 100

HGPR = 100
HLPS = 65
If you make it .025, then every second it will loose .025% of remaining charge.

.025 X 40 = 1

However, To make it fair, use a number higher than the active camo finish.

So .015 will take 66.66(r) seconds to recharge.

I can Math?

ALTERNATE UNPROVEN METHOD! O_O

Make the HGPR 60
And the HLPS 1

Therefore it will take 60 seconds to loose all it's heat.
