Vehicle swap? (I figured it out ^^)

I haven't found any tutorials on how to mod Halo: Combat Evolved in the way I want, so I figured I'd ask here.

All I want to do is turn the warthogs into banshees (or at least ghosts) in d40.map. I could probably find what I need if I searched long enough, but the only time I'm not busy, I'm too tired to think...

(I realize this isn't the most amazing mod ever, but I have fun with it. Version 2 will have Ghosts spawn where Warthogs normally would. I wonder what I could do for version 3... Is there any way to remove the time limit, or at least add 30 minutes or so?)

You basically do the vehicles in unsupported maps method that involves exporting the scnr tag and editing the .xml file. Then just change the warthog spawns to be banshees. However, d40 has a script like the race gametype that requires you to use the warthog to get to the checkpoints. I know from experience.

So it's no problem turning the hogs into a different vehicle, I just can't get off the Pillar of Autumn before it explodes -.-

Right. What worked for me was using a plasma pistol that shot warthogs and banshees. You just need to be in a warthog at the checkpoints.

Okay, I'll try to figure out how to do that -.-
I guess I could have the warthog gun spawn banshees and the banshee's secondary fire spawn warthogs... But how do I do that? XP
And where are the checkpoints?

Just use a dependency swapper to make the changes. Change the proj tag to be the vehi tag. You should know the check points, it's where the nav beacon is.

I guess I shouldn't be trying to figure this out while I'm zapping toy rats on MapleStory -.-
umm... I never really pay attention to the nav beacon on that level. It's just one long track with lots of jumps and obstacles to me ^^;

I made a super AR at one point, but the plan backfired when I was faced with three flood carrying it XD

edit2: nope, I'm still lost

edit3: I GOT IT!!!

Just inject the Banshee meta into the Warthog with HMT.
I still have to swap the ammo, sounds, and crosshairs, and it'll be a near-perfect Banshee. Only problems, HMT doesn't want to swap sounds and projectiles, and Halo crashes when I try to complete the level. Maybe I should try running from behind the barrels...

u might like to try going into HHK and hitting APPLE + D then copying the metadata fom the shee to the warthog, that way the shee is still reckognised as a wartog just... its a shee, u might have 2 change th wep tas and stuff im not sure

I don't need HHK, lewbylew, I have HMT.

extract banshee meta with hmt --> inject banshee meta into warthog

It works. Though, my other attempts have not been quite as successful...
