Post by Sugarlumps » Sat Sep 26, 2009 11:15 pm

Kk guys, i imported a wonderful "wasp" into bloodgulch, and guess what? The skin of it is terrible, look:

BTW its snowy ground cause of my bitmaps

Image

So yea... i just need one person to skin this nicely for me, to suit REGULAR BLOODGULCH skin, without the snowy ground. Wasp skin...

Pm me for the image, if you would like to volunteer.

And please, no wacky skins, (soz wacky skinners), as realistic as possible

and MAYBE alt, can u give me ur Wasp Skin?

WILL CREDIT ANYONE FOR THE SKIN THAT I USE

THis is for my upcoming mod Aerial Battles (may be renamed)

Thanks in advance ppl who does this skin

I asked this cause i cant skin

ah! >_>
it's not really a skin...
It's missing bitmaps. Maybe someone has it?
If not.... you'll hafta make it by scratch, which is near impossible....

Dude.... the pixels mean there is no bitmaps....
There's a model but no bitmaps. that's why it's like that.
It's the same for all other things you import. So your saying that all the models have the same bitmaps? And they all have a 'pixelated' theme?
Don't think so.

This is because you imported it from a CE map the retarded way... or you just got it from import island.

Convert a CE map with a wasp then import it. Besides, Neko and someone else made a wasp mod for bloodgulch way back before half of us joined. Even me.

I know how to extract CE stuff with its bitmaps and sounds and everything from Eschaton 0.8

Altimit had a tut on front page to extract with bitmaps+sounds.

HIS wasps look great

Anyway, which CE map?

I took this Wasp from Mota's Tags Pack

Eschaton 0.8.x takes care of the whole problem of importing tags from CE maps. There's a warning during import if a bitmap you need is from a different version (and will therefor appear corrupted since it points to a different location in bitmaps.map). Any internalized bitmaps are handled without problem. There's a youtube video describing the exact process where the example I use is the wasp. Don't use a tag pack, just use the original map. And yes you will probably need full version bitmaps and sounds.

The maps you want from Halomaps.org are by mothergoat.

Dude, what the f*ck? Is it even possible to skin those things? I mean, their pixelated, and therefor have no bitmaps. And the hog ones do look radical on em, but what if you tried the pelican bitmaps, or a spirit? No no, the Pillar of Autumn. Yes, no?

You really don't understand what's going on to make them show up pixelated.

The problem is bitm tags pointing to the wrong location. Motas tag pack has bitm tags that pointed to internalized data. When they were extract they simply extract the tag data but not the stored bitmap data. So what ends up happening is the tag points to the same location but there's no bitmap data there. So it tries to interpret it as bitmap data and what it shows up as is the pixelated mess. Alternatively in conversions from one version to another you have bitm tags that point to a location in the bitmaps.map file. So in full the bitm tag may point to 0x100 for a bitmap. But in demo that bitmap may not exist or be somewhere else. The bitm tag doesn't know this and still points to the same location. When it's used in demo that location is essentially garbage when interpreted as a bitmap. But in both cases, that so-called garbage data is still valid data for other things. So if you tried to import a bitmap it would overwrite the other data and corrupt that.
