[Tutorial] How to fix the Oddball glitch.

Some of you must have noticed the glitch in Oddball. When you see the ball being held (3p) you see it facing you. But when you hold it in fp it is facing you.... how can the Oddball face 2 people at once? (Rhetorical question) To fix this, just follow these easy steps.

Step 1: Open Eschaton and go down to the weap tags, open up Weapons\ball\ball. Go to the reference swapper.

Step 2: Inside the reference swapper go to the location 19DB2C6 (The second mod2 tag [going up to down])

Step 3: Swap out weapons\ball\fp\fp with weapons\ball\ball. Quit Eschaton.

Step 4: Test out your map and see that in first person, the ball is facing out, just as the people see it do!

Let me rephrase then: Why did you, Divine, was messing with these ball things?

ball/fp stands for the first person model of the ball.
ball/ball stands for the ball in 3rd person.

the first person model faces inwards, therefor, normally the ball faces the player.
the 3rd person model of the ball faces outward, therefor, when other people see the guy in 3rd person it's facing outwards.

Let's say a guy is holding the skull. Only the guy can see the ball/fp, as he is the only person in first-person mode holding the ball. While all the other people sees the 3rd person model of the ball, which is facing them, therefor, the ball faces both ways at once.

The first person model of the ball is located in a certain place. And the 3rd person model of the ball is located in another place.


If you'd take the first person model and put the 3rd person model back in it's place, then the the skull would point the other way!
It doesn't work the other way most likely because fp models are set so that they only work with first person.
On the other hand, the ball/ball is just a normal model. Therefor a normal model shall work if you put it anywhere, whereas a first person model will only work while in first person.

So... could I create a... OH! Taxi will get this. Taxi! I will take the pistol, and swap the models so that it is always facing towards you, and when you shoot, it kills you. Then I will create a map where you spawn next to a stump.

Actually i was freaking out to ghosts about how the oddball was wrong and so i was like fuck it im fixing it and did it.
