Perhaps you should remake Space Arena by Deox. That was one of the first completely map-changing mods I remember. I would love to see that recreated in Halo Reach. Would be incredibly easy as well with the selection of pieces. Although, you couldn't use teleport doors for walkways like in the original, shield doors would replace the sliding doors, and placing the lower section so that you take all but one life in fall damage would take a bit of experimenting. The rest should be a piece of cake.

Although I can see Jetpacks dominating quite easily. Still, a bit of nostalgia. I wish I could say I had been around for this mod, but I wasn't... That maps looks incredibly fun though.

The Map only has 2 jetpacks and you spawn with no armor abilities. The Damage modifier is also heavily changed to produce fun gameplay by both ground and vehicle banshee fights. Normal firepower can destroy the banshee easily so it's not over powered.

I didn't mean Jetpacks on your map, I meant on Space Arena. Although if it's to replicate the original it wouldn't have armor abilities anyway.

I don't recall what space arena looks like so I wouldn't know how to remake it. Though I can try remaking certain maps that have been made like crossing. I'd just need pictures and locations of spawns and weapons.

Oh boy. Lets see if I can go find it...

EDIT: Gah... Can't find the original thread. Might scan through Deox's posts after this.

The pics should give you the relative layout. Or you could download it if you are still capable of running Halo Demo.
http://www.halodemomods.com/wiki/Mod_Da ... pace_Arena

And Sharebear also covered it in a video. That should give you the relative scale of set pieces to player.

EDIT^2: Jebus frickin what the hell... The name Deox hasn't been mentioned on MacGamingMods for over a year. The most recent three posts are by me... Anyways, I searched his posts. It seems whatever topic he posted to announce Deep Space has slipped off the forums. Either that or he never posted it, although I doubt this is the case since a search of "deep space" returns only ONE result in his entire post history, referencing his newer version called "Slipspace." I assume that means the other posts with "deep space" are simply gone. Oh well...

If you want I can probably boot up Halo and snap a dozen photos or so.

Slipspace wasn't a "newer" version of Deep Space. Deox meant Slipspace to be a brand new map, and had a teaser thread up which kept getting repeatedly necro'd when I first joined. Deox had given up on Slipspace, and then much later I recall someone (or maybe Deox himself) leaked the Slipspace Beta. From what I heard, the hype was more than the map itself was worth. Long story short, Deox dropped the project years ago, and fell off the radar, which is why the last post by him is from a year ago and I'm sure that before that, his last post would be back another year or farther.

I don't have much nostalgia for Deep Space...

I do! It was an amazing map! It had working doors and stuff took from c10! We weren't able to do something like that for a long time since the map came out. :-\

also slipspace… heh, i think i still have a copy of the beta somewhere in some hard disk. It was cool, but i think i liked DSA more.

Eh... I didn't mean Slipspace was a newer version. I suppose what I meant was it was a new map with a similar style: floating platforms on a space-like background.

I'm pretty sure I have a beta of it as well. Taxi is right, it's not a bad map but Deep Space left a much greater impact. I mean, come on.
OPENING DOORS. OH MY GOD.

Again, I'll go see about screens if you want them.

I don't know about you guys, but I only played it once with Fonzie, so I never got a good experience of the gameplay because the map at least looks like it was created for more than 2 people. Where as crossing was a nice small map good for a lower range of players.

DSA was awesome. First map I ever played that was a completely new map for Halo Demo, and had SCNR modifications years ahead of its time.

Maybe deox sent himself a map back through time? o_O He made the map today in 2011 and sent a message to his past self whom posted it ahead of its time!

We could as well be Deox himself! 0_0 He could be you. He could be me! He could even be--

Or he could have just used PC modding tools.

Deep Space arena certainly was neat; I didn't spend a whole lot of time on it, but an occasional game of CTF or slayer was certainly fun.

@Kyoshi: I really like this, and I'm glad you remade it; I thought about building Crossing in Reach many times, but I never seemed to get around to it. Maybe now I'll have to dedicate the time.
