DAMNr6 down forever?

Post by Vir2L™ » Thu Oct 14, 2004 9:43 am

it has been down for a few days.

Whats going on? Did Mauti quit his service or did his service quit him? I'd be more than a little upset if my web domain was down for that long.

That's kind of "weak". Not the first time and probably not the last. Must be a one man show I think.

No, Mauti has no control over the site being down. The problem comes from Gamespy's dynamic servers being compromised. This is why only my Diner Gallery is down but not my site, since I did not put my main site on the dynamic server like Mauti did.

which MODs were those?

I know for a fact that we are more on top of converting NEW MODs than Mauti was/is over at DAMN. Heh, infact Leary and I did most of the conversoins for Mauti before Monoman started this site.

Are the Mac mods that are linked from the ~damnr6 site available any where else? I have tried and tried to find them on fileplanet.com but haven't been successful.

I was trying to get dtdnoeasyday, hx5, and a few others that are supposed to be very good.

Can anybody help?

All the mods on the site are still available on the site. The problem is *Damn uses a cgi script to keep track of downloads. This is what now is causing the problem. To get around it, just delete the beginning part of the link to get the link to the actual file.

For example,

Code: Select all

http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~damnr6/macmods/download.cgi?http://www.fileplanet.com/dl/dl.asp?planetrainbowsix/damnr6/dtdnoeasyday13.zip
The actual link is everything after the cgi? part.

FYI the HX5 missions don't work on the Mac they use animations that couldn't be converted so they're going to crash on you at some point.

The maps are nice for gametypes though :).

That's too bad. What about the HX3 and HX4 missions?

Thansk again for your help.

They're pretty much fine from what I recall though can be a bit lagging at times depending on the skill level of the tangos :). Their animations for vehicles worked fine on Macs. :P
