Weapon ideas

Seriously guys, who hasn't done this? Everyone who knows how to import models has made an energy sword of some type.

Actualy I havn't bothered. I think that we should finish it though, make it have a HUD and reticle and get damage and a fp model. That would be a good group project. *Darts off to the dev board and sword's topic*

i would and i have wings 3d. i could make the model but need to figure out how to import the model. whenever i try to inject, import, etc. a 3ds or anything else Wings3d saves as, the program crashes and i have to retry it. i think ill stick to bitmaps and swapping for now. (but only if someone knows where i can get the .dds plugin for photoshop)

in fact, i think i will put my sig as my first photoshop picture. (nevermind. too big right now)

Don't use .3ds, use .obj. And you don't need the dds plugin for skinning. What are you trying to do? The skin can be exported as a bmp and Photoshop can open those.

EDIT: i tried it, but i must have done something wrong... Halo crashed. dang. lets see... i saved indices and vertices of the .obj, then "appended" them to the plasmarifle/rifle or something like that. not the fp/fp thing. any hints or mistakes corrections anyone wants to give me?

something else. RUNESCAPE??? HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA!!!! now thats funny. no way would i change it into runescape. thats the dumbest idea ever. i would change it to meieval, but runescape? man, you crack me up. if i want it to be runescape, i would make master chief 2d and put all the graphics to negative. with a permanent 3rd person veiw, above him. and to change items, you have to equip them. that would be dumb.

however, making it so you press a button to become invisible would be cool. you could "equip" and oversheild if you ran over it and grabbed it, but only when you wanted to. like, in the middle of a firefight. that would be cool...

EDIT: man, this really stinks. even the bmp thing dosnet work... it always wants a .dds, but i cant do that. and i cant find a converter for mac.

A taser stuns people. So what you could do is have the plasma shot have a really long plasma freez time but no damage.

Banshee's do it too. The only plasma thing that doesn't stun is like the Fuel Rod and Plasma Nade.

Just make the stun amount very large and for a certain amount of time, it would be fun.
