You will require more grist for the more valueable items. for instance, one diamond and 8 grist will make 2 diamonds.

This would work fine, but i still need people to do the poll. tell me the rarity you want (1-8) <---diamond to redstone on this topic since it didnt fit. I think ill just use the lapis texture as the block to save trouble, not a big deal right?

Until I make better textures, Lupis will do fine.
I am pretty sure lupis is particularly rare, so I would make it as rare as that.

3 blocks of lupis is still a lot more common than 9 blocks of diamonds >.<

That was my point earlier. Making it rare to the point where using it to farm diamonds is no longer profitable will severely diminish the use and fun of it. I think grits should be fairly common, just storage blocks shouldn't be clone-able, or there should be grits block that also clone (A way of making the limit of grits required to clone higher than 8 ).

No I meant a grist block that had the picture of lupis(how long until someone catches this?). and Lapis is the same rarity as diamond which is hard for me to beleive.

Well you get 3-5 lapis from one lapi block.

Another way to make this work with more grist for larger items would be to make a, uh... crap, what's that machine called... card puncher or whatever the heck it is that they need in order to duplicate shit. could work like a furnace, allowing you to stack grist, and it wouldn't duplicate the item unless you had enough grist.

Just a thought.

After 3 scratch attempts at making a grist block I failed misrably for some unknown reason, it blackscreened -_-. so I gave the fuck up and made this (ill change the strings from ore later. I spent 8 hours on the failed attempts btw -_-. oh java...

it's hard to tell, but the grist item texture is way better.
and perhaps make it so you have to dupe the more valuable blocks with a solid grist block, instead of single grist items even?
