swordedit: Genesis - Let there be Light
Fonzie, I'm positive that the slow running on older computers is due to bitmap loading and rendering.
In the second release in a few weeks I'll have an entirely new bitmap loading / rendering system that'll be much more efficient.
Right now, as long as you have at least 512 MB of memory on at least a G4 you should be fine.
If your on a G4 with 256MB of memory then it'll be slow-as-hell.

Eschaton 0.7 will not take second.Løki wrote:Nononono... The meaning I meant to put out was simply saying that eschaton will probably go down to be the 2nd most used program.P.S. Whoever said that Eschaton is screwed because of SwordEdit, you're wrong. SwordEdit is a spectacular Scenario editor - but that's all it can do. I know I'll still rely on Eschaton for the bulk of my modding. And Kayar- why party when you can mod with Sword Edit!

I am not saying that either. I am saying that Eschaton will not take a second place. these two apps are completely different, you cannot compare them. that is like comparing iPhoto to Photoshop for image editing. iPhoto is not make for image editing so it would lose. you cannot compare eschaton and swordedit.DanDan wrote:yeah i have to agree. no offense to this app. its just that eschaton is like an all-around app. this just focuses on certin things...bcnroot wrote:Eschaton 0.7 will not take second.Løki wrote: Nononono... 1.25Ghz G4 with 512MB of RAM. So I guess I meet your requirements. I mean the overall program is amazing, it just uses up mass amounts of my CPU.

THIS GRAVY HAS BRAINS

My only complaint is the rotate keys don't work.
Ooo, and..
If you click preferences a window comes out with semicolons and "What are you doing here, silly?" and you can't close the window
Good luck on making it run faster.

Hello, Sword... I would like to inform you that your new application was an excellent addition to all modding tools, but SwordEdit still has some bugs. The bulk select doesn't work in the same way as normal select, and makes it very difficult to move things such as king locations, and after about nine items, it deselects them all... also, single player maps do not load properly, and full maps have color issues, the spawn selector isn't working properly. This can all be fixed with some debugging, and the next version of SwordEdit will be even better, I'm pleased to help with anything you need, I am somewhat skilled with writing code, and skilled with Photoshop if you need any graphics done. Thank you for the great app!'
Also the ability to morph the ground and such (deletion and distortion of the actual gulch) would be wonderful, a visual hex edit is exactly what we need... Also I noticed that the bases are unmovable, just like they have been in any other editor, but again, the ability to cut out, distort, and delete the actual map would be very good. I'm exited for V2!!!
Also the open recent menu doesn't work and chain hogs only show as turrets...

1. Bloodgulch bases are NOT scenery. Part of the bsp. Cannot be moved.Nintenman wrote:Hello, Sword...
